Born in Riverdale, Georgia and residing in Stockbridge, Isiah Nogal is the 2022 Fil-Am Presidential Scholar. The youngest of three boys, he is the son of Irvin and Jessica Nogal.
A high achiever, Isiah excels in academics. To name a few, he is an AP Scholar, a member of the National Honors Society and Governor’s Honor Program. He received Honors in Literature and Composition, World Literature, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, US History and American Government.
Admirably, Isiah has an undeniable talent in music. He occupies the Principal chair in flute and piccolo in the Wind Symphony. Furthermore, he is a drum major and flute section leader in the Marching Band.
Outside of school, he is a black belter in martial arts and is the assistant to the instructor at the Universal Martial Arts. He also volunteers at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church with the Angels of Mercy Organization helping in registration and gathering documents .
As he prepares himself for the next phase of his life, he will be graduating in May 2022 at the Dutchtown High School in Hampton, Georgia. He currently has an outstanding weighted GPA score of 4.48. Isiah was accepted in four colleges but his first choice is Georgia Institute of Technology, to major in Computer Science. Eventually, he wants to pursue into Health formatics field in the future.
