MARITES FERNANDEZ

Dubbed as “the child genius of the ivories,” Marites earned her Masters Degree in Music major in Piano at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She studied under Walter Hautzig and Ellen Mack Senofsky and took several master classes under the world renowned concert pianist, Leon Fleisher. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Major in Piano and Artist Diploma (cum laude) from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music in Manila, under Benjamin Tupas. Marites has been on the concert stage since eleven playing solo programs and performing with several orchestras. She has traveled giving concerts in Asia, United States, Canada, Europe and Peru.

RENE DALANDAN

An accomplished soloist, accompanist and chamber music colleague, Rene has a DMA from the Manhattan School of Music and a Master of Music Major in Piano from Mannes College of Music under Nina Svetlanova in New York. Rene earned his Bachelor of Music Major in Piano (magna cum laude) from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music in Manila under Aida Sanz-Gonzalez. While presently a music and chorus teacher at the Pearl River Middle School, he is also the music director of St. Catharine’s Church in New York, He has performed extensively in the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe.

Both artists have been playing together as partners in a two-piano four-hand program for several years now. They have extensively performed mostly in the United States, Canada and the Philippines. Earlier this year, they performed in a packed hall in Vancouver, Canada in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
